[plug] Redhat/RPM dependency question

Yes....yes......I know.........I have two systems which have been running
potato since its beta release, and slink before that, and they pretty much
look after themselves (*tips hat toward Debian developers*). No-one will
argue that apt-get doesn't kick butt, nor should they suggest that I should
use Debian....I already do. However, for a variety of reasons I'm also
responsible for several machines running various release versions of RH and
Mdk. So for those machines and for the sake of Pete's original question, does
anyone have a better system of handling RPM dependency issues than the one I
outlined (very briefly and a little tongue-in-cheek)? If so, I'd still like
to hear about it -- not that I consider it a huge issue for me.
