Also, perhaps grab the XMMS src.rpm package and recompile for your
architecture (i586). It may help out with performance a little...

	rpm --rebuild --target=i586 xmms-x.y.z-src.rpm

The output will be in /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i586/.
