[plug] Slackware Sound.

Beau ,

Could i achieve this by editing the /etc/rc.d/rc.modules file and make sure
the module support for the via chipset is enabled at boot time? If the AC97
is supported surely there would be an entry for this style sound support. Is
my apprehension that obvious towards kernel recompiling >? <say's he shyly
looking starring at the monitor>

Cheers

Hi there

The kernel has an AC97 driver for the VIA chipsets. configure it in and
recompile your kernel
