Hi, I am tryng to connect a laptop (win 2000) to a linux machine via a
serial port. I have got to the point I can log in using hyperterminal,
or have it spawn a shell of pppd for a particular login, but then it
hangs. Win2000 is using dcc and is setup to allow me to manually enter
the user/passwd for the ppp account on linux.
The problem is that it hangs at that point - which I think is probably
pap authentification. Can someone share their settings to enable me to
progess further? My guess is I need a script on the win end to complete
the connection, but I cannot see what Liunx pppd is missing to allow me
to do what it wants.
My ~pppuser/.ppprc is:
debug
-detach
modem
crtscts
lock
:nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn
This gives me no debug that allows me to trace what is happening at the
point of hand. messages and syslog just show pppd as starting, and
nothing else.
