[plug] kernel compile problems - any hints please

Thanks very much for your replies - Today I had a tafe test on, among other 
things, compiling the kernel.  Somehow it looks like I have passed that 
junior level with flying colours.  (& I'm free to move away from RedHat 7.0 
now!)
