Don't know if you are trying to pick a blue, but..

It's like asking "which is the best car to go shopping and on holidays?"

There are many variables, like admin knowledge, security and upgradability.

Most ppl here use debian for serious stuff, but some knowledge is needed to 
make it work. OTOH, it is dead easy to keep up to date.
