I do, two through iiNet and one through Telstra. They all use the little
dark-grey box (which iiNet refers to as a `home modem') with a UTP
socket on the side. What drivers?

Telstra route *all* of their ADSL through either Sydney or Melbourne
(forget which, most likely Melb) (as in, the raw signals go to ES, are
decoded there and hit the Internet there). Centralisation gone
completely troppo.
