[plug] Linux.conf.au 2002 - here in Perth?

OK, for those of you who were at tonight's meeting, you know what this is
about. To the rest of you.... sit down and take a deep breath...

LCA2001 was the second national conference of its kind. CALU (Conference
for Australia Linux Users) was the frist, in 1999. There wasn't anything
in 2000. SLUG (Sydney Linux User Group) said they invisage LCA being a
roaming conference. AT LCA2001, the idea was put forward of Perth - it was
put to a vote on the last day of the conference, and a fair number were
quite positive. Obviously the Sydney siders didn't like it cause they were
kind of keen on LCA2001 being in their own town... :)

Several issues were discussed tonight very briefly on this - indeed, a mailing
list for this is being set up, and a lot more detail is going to be entered
in to at the next PLUG meeting to be held at UCC... I think it is on Monday
fortnight or so.

The entire thing might not come here, but with a *large* amount of
organisation it can be done. Have a think about who you would want to see
at LCA2002, what events could be held (Beach, trip to Margaret River,
Swan River cruise) and bring your ideas along. Try not to flood the PLUG list
at the moment - wait until the dedicated mailing list is set up...

But come to the next meeting, and talk to either me, Nick Bannon, Jason
Nichols, or someone who is going to help coordinate! 10^6 volunteers requ'd. ;)

Yours,
  James
