Have you shifted your hard disks around lately? Basically sounds like
the kernel is looking for the root filesystem on a device where it is
not. Try giving the correct device on the LILO prompt:
LILO boot: linux root=/dev/hdXX
Where "/dev/hdXX" is the correct root device. You can fix this
permanently by editing your /etc/lilo.conf file
