In fact, Debian stops you from wasting your entire life, let alone an
entire day. Alright, enough of the mindless advocacy. Of late, I've read a
couple of articles (probably on Linuxtoday or Slashdot) about a port of
Debian APT system to redhat/RPM. Not certain whether it is out of alpha
yet, but it definitely would be worth doing a search on "apt & rpm".
