no if your cfg file is in ucase then leave it that way, it's how RH writes 
the cfg file.
mtu/mru needs to be a setting the your modem likes, eg Netcomm Roadster II 
likes 576, Acer 56K Modem doesn't need a setting.
so have a fiddle and find out the best response from your modem.
