[plug] stuffed rpm

Hi Tony,
     I installed libdb-3.1.so
as part of upgrading to rpm-4.0.3. When I try to
upgrade the system from a cd it gives a lot of errors because
it is not happy with the broken installation of rpm that it finds 
on the hard-disk.  

Plus -- there does not appear to be a rpm package available to
select -- only a rpm-dev package. I can see rpm-3.0.2-6.0.i386.rpm
on the cd -- but cant install it. 

Perhaps I could install a new rpm from source and see what happens
