[plug] Error message on screen

I noticed since last Friday a msg on the main Linux server 
mgetty Fatal: yS1 cannot write PID to (temp) lock file.

Init: Id "s1 respawning too fast: diabled for 5 min"
Which file is this referring to and what is causing this?
