Mike,

I'm running mandrake 7.2 with kde 2.0 (rather than 2.01) and have found it
to be a lot slower than a (red hat) kde 1 install on my cyrix 200+ cpu, 32
MB. It might just be a memory issue though in which case your 64 MB should
do the trick. Also my install was starting up a locate type database update
frequently on boot which I turned off, as this was slowing down X heaps
till it finished.

By the way apart from the speed issue, I was very impressed with the
Mandrake 7.2 in all other respects. It comes with a heap of s/w (but as
someone else pointed out the mag cd may be a bit light). The kids are still
enamoured with the games (esp freeciv) after a couple of months.

cheers,

Dave.
