Hi all
New to the list, thought I might say hi (if the mailserver accepts my
post this time, having no end of trouble).
I'm network manager of a community newspaper and maintain a mixed
network (_very_ mixed: read winNT, win9x, Linux (RH & Debian), Sco
Openserver 5.0.5, MacOS 7 - 9).
BTW does anybody know how to get qmail to use more than one relay host?
(and even better, not append any of its own headers either? basically
act as a silent relay to whatever configured SMTP hosts are accepting
messages). I switch between a few dialups and would love to no longer
have to reconfigure my mail client for the correct SMTP server every time.
Also - I'll answer what newbie questions I can. Admittedly I'm not that
far from newbie status myself (1 year) but I've been doing a _lot_ of
work with linux. And I remember how much I could have done with a couple
of answers to questions we consider "obvious" (how to recompile a kernel
even!).
but for those if any that don't yet know first go to
http://linuxdoc.org/ (Linux Documentation Project)

Hope somebody has some ideas about smart mail relaying.

Cya
Craig
