Isn't there one combination of the above that you can prepend to 
a call which only disables call waiting for the current call?
Alternatively, between dialing and connect, can you do a "recall 3" 
which tells call waiting not to bother you any more on this call?

Back in the days when I used POTS modems... *chortle to other xDSLers*
