[plug] iBook and linux

Hi all,
Just wondering if there is anyone out there with experience with running
linux on an ibook.
what i want to know is would it be worth it for someone who only wants to
run linux? would it be limiting in support ? ive noticed most binarys are
not distributaed for PPC ? 
would i be wasting my time and money ? or would it be a kick-ass
take-anywhere linux machine ?
