I've tried RedHat, Mandrake, SuSE, and Debian (potato) for an old p100 box
for a minimalist firewall.
In my experience all the RPM based distros tend to have packages that are
bloated with extras, and too many dependencies on weird things, making it
hard to get a lean install.
Debian is probably the way to go for any low spec system.
