Hi Craig and Plug,
no kernel rebuild or distro reinstallation attempted yet.
Grub comes up and selecting either linux or 'failsafe' fails-
The first relevant errors appear to be:
---------
mounting /dev/extra1 ..... failed
mounting /dev/extra2 ..... failed
var /log/wtmp ..... no such file or directory
Starting system logger: appears to hang for a long period
--root [891]: ROOT LOGIN ON vc/1
bash: id: command not found.
----------
Anyway it seems I've got a bit to learn about installing LVM!
Any direction you can give me will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Daniel.
