[plug] Open source seminar

I'm doing a full-day workshop for Software Engineering Australia
(http://www.seawa.og.au) on open source on 29 November. I'll be handing
out 12cm silver platters at the workshop and teaching all these
died-in-the-wool Microsoft-centric techs and managers about the forces
of Good and Evil. Details at
http://www.sea.net.au/seawa/default.asp?ObjectName=Events&EvId=EV000384.[1]

I'm not expecting anyone from PLUG to want to attend, because (a) it is
bloody expensive, and (b) you already know it all anyway, but the reason
I'm emailing the list is because I have also got to do a half-hour or so
presentation on 13 November which is free to SEAWA members and cheap for
non-members ($20 I think) and I thought maybe a few people might want to
share their experiences.

If anyone wants to come along on 13 November to Tech Park, Bentley drop
me a note off-list and we can talk about what we want to say: I was
thinking some real-world anecdotes about using Linux and open source in
a workplace environment. Most of the SEAWA members are certainly not
clueless, but a lot of them don't necessarily have much exposure to open
source.

Any other suggestions about what might be interesting to cover would
also be appreciated. I'll probably be throwing a StarImpress
presentation together. Any neat material for slides floating around out
there? Anything else people want me to say? This could be quite a good
promotional event for Linux and open source within the IT industry in
Perth.
