I have solved the XFree problem, I removed xfonts base with apt-get, then all the configuration files, that apt-get does not remove with dpkg --purge xfonts-base and then reinstalled xfonts-base again. A simple solution to a strange problem. I even could use my old XF86Config file after that again. Christian
