Hello everyone.
I have spent two weeks getting a RAID 1 bootable Debian System. There
was very little documentation on how to do this under Debian with a
standard packaged 2.4 kernel and associated tools. I present:
The (unofficial) Debian Woody/Sid 2.4 Kernel RAID 1 DevFS ReiserFS HOWTO
http://www.james.rcpt.to/programs/debian/raid1/
The rest of the documentation suggests compiling kernels and other such;
but damn, I like using pre-shrinkwrapped kernels on production systems,
because they've been used by 100's of other people who will get problems
before me (hopefully).
It's a barrel of fun, and some. ;)
Seriously, this is a simple proceedure, you just need to know what settings
to tweak. Here they are, all laid out for you.
If you have comments, corrections, or have found typos, please let me know.
Unfortunately, there is no bounty on typos tonight. ;)
