[plug] Sound In Debian

I know I have done this all before... but I seem to have lost my copies 
of the steps to get sound working under Debian. If anyone has history of 
the previous messages.

The instructions went something like..

change sources.list to ...
run apt-get update
run apt-get upgrade
apt-get install sndconfig
...
then I cannot remember the symlink I needed to create when X upgrades 
itself. The config files move from the standard X release with Potato to 
that of Woody.

PS.  I think Lethiat has a copy.. I did send it to him/you as a help for 
his/your probs... but I do not know if he/you still has it on record.
