My point of view:
Well as a American I can only say that Bush (who loves to fight) is only going to make things worst and this may be the beginning of a 3rd WW. From what I've heard both on the TV/Radio and from friends at home the American people are going to back him to blow whoever is responsible to kingdom come.  Now the problem with this as we should know that war beget war and with that in mind you'll have the Americans and their allies (including Russia this time) going against the Islam nations.  This could get biblical in portions, and what you end up with is Armageddon.  Nuclear warfare against germ warfare, this could lead to an ongoing destruction in nature.  
I'm not saying they shouldn't go after the group responsible, they should look to see what would be a satisfactory resolution for both the Americans and the middle east.
I think what has happened is unacceptable, but again everyone needs to cool off and think things through.

I stayed up till 3 am this morning listening to this as I was working on a project, I couldn't bring myself to see the images on the tv until this morning.  I must admit it made me sick to see this and my family and I are grateful for being here.
