[plug] en_GB KDE "trash can"

I don't mind if it's old. :)
Anyway, Discarded Files isn't too bad but we'll stil stick to Deleted Files
for now. Why? This is because it IS a computing term. There's a growing
number of win32 to GNU/Linux converts and due to this, everyone is trying to
make the desktops easier to use.
There's nothing wrong with this but we do have to draw the line somewhere as
people are eventually going to have to know these terms anyway (probably
within ten minutes of using either). There was a discussion on the KDE
mailing list on whether they should be called "folders" or "directories". I
stuck in my two cents and said that it should be a directory, as that's what
they always have been and a folder is what you bung paper in.
The argument here was that a "folder" would make it easier for "windoze"
converts but I haven't spoken to a Windows user that doesn't know the term
"directory" (I'm talking to PC newbies here). I tell a lie, one didn't but
all you had to say was "it's actually a directory and they were fine.
After that rant and dribble, what I'm trying to say is don't underestimate
them. They won't be scared by standard computing terms as "PCs for Dummies"
books (of that genre, anyway)and tech support people use these all the time
anyway.
