If it helps, I've had a Lucent-Mars-based NetComm WinModem coasting along just 
fine for a few weeks now at a client site. However, WinModems are still a 
shocking idea when you can buy an internal hardware modem for $28+GST at 
wholesale. Expect to have to dust the cornflakes off one at breakfast any 
time now. (-:
