Alex,
did you try ifdown eth0 then ifup eth0? This is strictly for the ethernet
cards.
sometimes /sbin/service network restart can clear things up.

Subject: [plug] stalled network

G'day All,

Here is the problem.

Friday night I sent out a large e-mail to a large list, (not my
preferred way od doing it), anyway,

It slowed my whole system down for 24 hours, i.e. keystroke 1 1/2 hours
later, response. That is slow.

I let the system run and now everything is back to normal, well almost,
except for the network. I cannot make any connection to the box via any
of the networked terminals.

I have checked top and usage is only 0.3% with nothing running and no
zombies etc.

Question is, how do I reset the network going or do I just take the
windows option and reboot?

All help appreciated.

Alex
