Ummm
nslookup -sil
>144.137.234.225
CPE-144-137-234-225.wa.bigpond.net.au.
Authoritative answers can be found from:
234.137.144.in-addr.arpa        nameserver = ns1.bigpond.net.au.
<insert more telstra dns>

And back the other way...
>CPE-144-137-234-225.wa.bigpond.net.au.
Non-authoritative answer:
Name:   CPE-144-137-234-225.wa.bigpond.net.au.
Address: 144.137.234.225

Is your IP actually 144.137.234.225? Have you added the . at the end of
the hostname?
Do you have the local IP mapped to something else on YOUR DNS server?
(yunno internal vs external DNS)
Why does red wine in abundance make your tongue purple?

Oops, scrub that one :P
