Betcha didn't. (-: At least, not completely :-) I use Monmotha for simple 
situations like that. Very simple, very effective, twenty questions, run it 
and Bob's your auntie.

Meantime, try:

    iptables -xvnL

...and if that does nothing constructive:

    ipchains -xvnL

...and see what results you get. If you get an empty ruleset, look at the 
INPUT/OUTPUT rule policies.
