Dear PLUGers

Computer Angels is looking for a new home for 2003. The accommodation we
have found so far has some drawbacks so I thought I'd put an invitation to
the Linux community seeking sponsorship.

This is sponsorship because we are seeking space that is either free or
has a peppercorn lease arrangement. That way we remove our largest single
operating cost, rent, and can get on and do our Computer Angels thing.

Here's an ideal accommodation list for our needs but we'd enthusiastically
consider any offers :-)

We need:
200-300 sq metres
at least 30 to 50 square metres that can be our training area
separate entries for people and equipment I/O
cool air at least in the training space
ADSL-able (we can put a phone line in)
power,water,acceess to toilets
near a train station or major bus route (many members have no car)
access for vehicles to deliver and collect equipment

If you have an opportunity to sponsor us with space for a committed time
(like 1 or 2 years since we have a heap of stuff to move) then we'd like
to hear from you. If you see value in promoting your support for Computer
Angels then there are mutual benefits in the marketing and promotion
opportunities that sponsorship affords.

Also a quick update on our work so far ..

The second half of 2002 saw us consolidating the preparation side of
things. The distro (debian) has a reasonable auto-installation process
so we can bang systems togather. Now we are progressing to our core
activity; training. Our ethos is to "promote and encourage computer
literacy" so we are promoting two streams; training only and training
and a computer to continue training for people who are eligible.

All the best for 2003. May you share your efforts with Open Source and
your ideas with Open Minds :-)
