[plug] Another speedup in the works for Linux

Linux's scheduling has traditionally hammered anything Windows, Mac or 
anything except the higher-end Unices have to offer, this article points at a 
detailed exposition of a new scheduler for the kernel which threatens to 
outdo even that (in some cases by enormous margins):

There is also mention of work on getting it and the pre-emption patches to 
play nicely together. That and the recent work in making KDE more efficient 
should result in even heavyweight desktops with amazing responsiveness.
