[plug] 35 mm slide /A4 Scanners, USB1 ?

Please,
has anyone tried the cheaper "home" versions of these? I have seen people
complaining of sundry problems, but not found any pics on the web to
see whether they have adequate performance. Newer, better versions seem to
have USB2 which I don't; tho one of them admitted quietly in its specs to
USB1 as well.
