[plug] To any XFS experts out there ... help save my root partition!

G'day plug,

About 20 minutes ago, my Linux box crashed hard. When I rebooted, I was
rather disappointed to find that it kernel panics on boot, and will no
longer mount its root FS. The final page of error messages were captured on
digital camera:

Does anyone here know how to rescue an XFS partition?

In case it matters, the kernel is 2.4.19-gentoo-r7, and the partition in
question is a rougly 40GB XFS containing everything but /boot. (What is it
they say about eggs and baskets?) I tried rebooting a couple of times, but
it gives exactly the same messages.

CP.
Trying not to panic.

PS. Apologies for sending this using Outlook, as it'll no doubt turn this
message into some ugly HTML concoction, but the present circumstances make
it rather difficult for me to use my normal mail client.
