Remember Blender, the 3D interactive modeller which runs on Linux? The 
shareholders in the proprietary company which holds copyright on it have 
offered to free it for EUR100,000.

In _3_days_ of fundraising, the Blender Fund have collected EUR13,000, been 
promised another EUR8,500, and people have indicated intent to donate another 
EUR2,500. For scale, a Euro is roughly AUD$2.
