[plug] mgetty

Hi Andrew,

Yep, first thing I did was swapped modems with a brand new one on the
one being accessed.. so I'm pretty much eliminating that as a factor.

Its partially working again now, seems that for about half of the
dial-in attempts it works and the other half it doesn't. I'm going to
eliminate the phone cabling being a factor sometime this weekend as I'm
pulling in a new 50 pair cable anyway so the phone line for the main
dial-in line will be an absolutely perfect piece of copper (well at
least on the customer cabling side anyway ;o) ).

I know this seems obvious but have you checked your connections and
that your modems are still working? They may have received a power
spike, and check your serial ports. I usually eliminate the
possibility of a hardware fault before I start stuffing around with the
system.

Hey all,

I've come across a slight problem with mgetty. I've been using it for
dial-in access for a couple of users that travel a bit. Its been
working perfectly for months up until sometime yesterday afternoon. Its

now coming up with this:

Jun 21 09:32:42 gunada mgetty[1007]: init chat failed, exiting...:
Interrupted system call
Jun 21 09:32:42 gunada mgetty[1007]: failed in mg_init_data, dev=ttyS0,
pid=1007

And just isn't picking up the phone so it just rings out.

Ideas?

TIA :)

/ Ben
