Well, if anybody's interested in splitting off the plug list to provide
a couple of specialist ares, I would strongly suggest creating a "links,
press releases and news reposts" one. [OT] etc are all well and good,
but we're getting a lot of on-topic "hey look at this" link posts etc
and while handy, I for one prefer to keep it in a different stream and
they're usually not tagged currently (but what would you tag them
_as_?).

Which quickly gets somewhat silly, having eveybody on the list writing
procmail filters / eudora filters / IMAP server filters all the time.
[OT] is pretty much a universal convention, but I'd personally doubt the
usefulness of other tags, though if a sub-list isn't an option then its
probably better than nothing.

Eh. Its what I do now and It hasn't killed me yet. Still, thought I'd
wade into the discussion...

I think there's value in having some OT stuff, bulletins, etc going to the
list, but IMHO its got a bit much at times lately with chunks of 3 or more
threads being links / ot / whatever.

Whatever way it falls or doesn't, I really don't care that much but
I thought I'd offer some thoughts while it was on the table.
