1)PLUG Meeting: Tuesday 12th, 7.30pm on XML

XML in Linux

The talk will be in three parts. The first part will be a brief "What
is XML".

The second part will give a rundown of where and how XML is currently
being used in Linux-based systems (Gnumeric, the Mozilla UI, Open
Office, DocBook, etc), and of some common tools available for working
with it.

In the third part I'll run through constructing a small Mozilla menu
or taskbar using XUL - Mozilla's XML-based user interface description
language.

The emphasis will be on a high-level view of what's there and how to
have fun and do work with it, rather than on pointy brackets and
syntax.
