[plug] duplicate emails

Hi list,
since we moved to a microsoft mail server I have been getting
duplicate email -- not all the time though. IT says this could be 
because my mail reader (emacs/vm) is misconfigured.

Does anyone else use emacs/vm?

I have set

(setq vm-pop-auto-expunge-alist
      '(
("mail-server:110:pass:robd:*" . t)  ;; expunge immediately
	)
      )


but that hasnt helped
