KMail is pretty damn good although the Sid version works better than the 
Woody version (if you're a Debian user).

Evolution is pretty good. When I used it was more featured than KMail so it 
depends on whether you want more or less fruit, I think.

I can also recommend against Mozilla/Netscape because the mail client is such 
a pain.
