I disagree.  If you are to be fully immune from getting a virus from
entering your network anywhere, then you won't be connected to the internet
at all, won't have email access and won't have removeable media drives in
any of your computers, so as to stop staff bringing in outside material on
floppy disks/cds that could possibly be infected.

You have to reach a balance between having a secure network and a functional
network.
