[plug] Mke 8.1 sound prob

Hey up!

Anyway, straight to it and that! I've got a mate who's having sound problems 
with Mandrake 8.1. He's using a Vibra 128 for the record. Anyway, when 
looking at the startup services, it says that the sound card initialised 
fine. When we go to run XMMS (which is set to using OSS), we try playing a 
file and it can't recognise anything being there.

If I run sndconfig, everything is ticketyboo and XMMS loves the world and 
struts its funky stuff. After resetting however, "Checking Module 
Dependencies" takes a LOT longer than normal (it says "OK" though) and XMMS 
still refuses to work! After sndonfig again..... well yeah, it's fine.

The weird thing is that the mixer works okay and when I tried out Cannon 
Smash, the sound worked fine. This may just be an XMMS problem, but I don't 
think so, maybe it's an OSS problem? Any help is going to be seriously 
appreciated!
