[plug] How to determine CPU Types for kernel rebuilds

When I tried to build a new kernel, the menuconfig screen asked me for my
CPU type 586, 686 etc...
I have a celeron 300A in one machine and a Celeron 800 in the other. Are
these 586's or 686's.
I used to think 586 was the designator for a Pentium and 686 for Pentium
Pro, but I am not sure.
I did a "cat /proc/cpuinfo" and it just says "Celeron".
I looked in "dmesg|more" and did not see anything there either, but then I
may have missed it.
