Actually, windoze can use a swap partition too, but doesnt bother because 
its quite efficient using a file to map space, and bypassing the normal 
filesystem for read/write the sectors.

Nah. Just 'mkswap' on bootup, and restore a blank windoze swap on 
shutdown. (dd first few sectors?)

Linux will happily use any file, incl on FAT, for swap. Its useful as a 
temporary boost, but not as fast.
