Hmm... so your phone service is dodgy. ISN'T IT?!? <nugde, nudge> Maybe 
you'd better call Telstra and have them fix your awful quality phone 
line ;-)

Hell, maybe you even get real bad quality voice calls and poor data 
rates or dropouts. If not, IMHO Telstra really can't get away with 
"sorry, your line sucks so we can't install your DSL service" (and it is 
Telstra doing the DSL, always, no matter which ISP you're with).

Hopefully this sort of thing should no longer be needed after the 
pressure is put on Telstra by the recent ACCC ruling on fixed-price 
copper access.
