[plug] MandrakeControlCentre wont open.

I have just started using Mandrake9 RC1 and the MandrakeControlCentre
won't 
open. I have just had a look at syslog and the same number of times I
tried 
to open it, there is an entry saying Kernel: CDROM: open failed. I put
the 
Mandrake CD in, just on the off chance, but this is obviously not what
it 
wanted :) I did not expect perfection from a release candidate, but was 
wondering if anyone had any ideas? Below is a snip from syslog...
