I prefer ext3 main through support from other programs. I've used
R-Linux (yes, I know, evil propritary stuff) and F.I.R.E a couple of
time to drag files off a corrupt ext2 partition when simple fixes
wouldn't help (Fujitsu 20Gb IDE drives are cr at p enough to take the cake
there!)

And updating a just-restored-from-DAT ext2 drive to ext3 is too simple
:)
