[plug] .deb's for MPlayer

Curiosity mainly, I've never had any luck with previous try's long ago
(also no DVD player then) so now one has been acquired I'm more a bit
interested.

I installed the .deb and ran 'mplayer' in an xterm, plenty of text 
output,no error message I could see and nothing else.

That figures-:(  Is there a simple walkthru Howto type doc around?
