In making this comment I feel a bit like a beginning violin student
commenting upon Stradivarius' playing but for my $0.02...
"recently upgraded" .. what was the nature of the upgrade? Memory, mobo,
cpu, ?? Like another respondent, I'm "layer 1" and would be thinking
- memory (if this was upgraded and the sticks came from the same batch),
- mobo (is there any chance that the cpu's are being accidentally
overclocked because of incorrect mobo documentation (or genuine faults)?
What is the normal load on these systems? Is this bizarre behaviour
happening for all users -- ie. does df always segfault regardless whether
one or ten users are logged in? And do all users get segfaults on the
same apps?
Sorry for the kindergarten-level ideas but maybe they'll spark some
credible line of thought.
