They merged fileutils, textutils, and somethingelseutils into
coreutils recently - this makes it sound really suspcious, like
libc6 was upgraded and everything else wasn't somehow...

Can you give us versions of: libc6, coreutils, fileutils,
shellutils, textutils, as per apt-cache policy ?

And a glance at your sources.list?
