So, since the security updates is the _only_ thing that has changed, then
it's not the kernel and not the hardware .. since they haven't changed ?

But reading on with your posts you have now reinstalled with some packages
that weren't part of the security updates.

So, is there a simple way to list all of the packages that have changed ?
